In my first reactor design class, my professor said “catalysis is a bit of a black art.” Given that Altamira pioneered fully automated chemisorption equipment with the AMI series, we though that it may be time to take a little bit of art out of the science. By coupling a heated transmission cell and FTIR with the automated AMI, the AMI IR series gives users the capability to observe, in real-time, adsorbed species to a surface. In addition, the TCD that comes standard with any AMI can be used simultaneously with the special transmission cell to give valuable information as to the type, strength, and specificity of the adsorption process. However, the AMI IR series is really two instrument in one as the IR module swings flawlessly out of the way to allow any user to go back to the traditional more “tail-pipe” analysis with the standard u-tube and AMI furnace.
Just another example of Altamira’s custom and fully automated solutions….
